Lia Koene has been involved in the Foundation since 2015. She carries out the secretarial work and administers the website. From 1985 to 2016, she worked at the Leiden Cytology and Pathology Laboratory (LCPL). More than 28 years as the secretary of Mathilde E. Boon MD, PhD (pathologist, CEO of the LCPL). For the last 2 years of her LCPL period, she coordinated training courses for general practitioners, the assistants and for podiatrists. She is currently spending a sabbatical helping the Foundation.
