Various

In the past, microscopes and other instruments have been depicted in many ways, for example on stamps, postcards, cigar bands, promotion folders and sugar bags. Especially stamps were used to memorise milestones and to strut with national proud. For example, the German Democratic Republic produced many stamps of Zeiss Jena, and Nobel Prize winner Zernike is shown on Dutch stamps. Zernike produced a phase contrast microscope in cooperation with Bleeker. The foundation also collects this material.
