Description

In box made of a light type of wood, possibly ash wood or beech wood.
This is stand ‘H’, intended for use by physicians and in laboratories. It is a simple horseshoe stand, which can be inclined over 90 degrees. Below the stage a mirror in a bracket in a swing arm, allowing it to be moved out of the optical axis for oblique illumination. The condenser is adjustable in height. The microscope has a circular stage with an attached mechanical stage. The limb is cast in such a way as to allow larger slides to be used. Coarse adjustment by rack and pinion, fine adjustment by a micrometer screw on top of the limb. With an adjustable sliding tube and a triple nosepiece changer. The stand is black enamelled, and probably made of cast iron. The body tube with its adjustments, the rim of the stage and the mechanical stage are all nickel plated, probably on brass.
