The foundation’s collection not only includes microscopes but also scientific instruments such as refractometers, microscope illuminators, microscopical slides, and microtomes. Besides historical microscopes, the foundation is focussed on Nedoptifa/Bleeker; a Dutch company that produced several scientific instruments including microscopes during the 20th century. We have chosen to categorize optical devices (e.g., the prism rotator or Zeiss’ camera lucida) as scientific instruments.
An English description of all instruments is not yet available, but we regularly try to improve our website and to add data and descriptions.
