Since 2000, Wim Quint (MSc, PhD) is involved in the Historical Microscopy Foundation. He succeeded Jan Lindeman as chairman of the board in 2012. Wim is molecular biologist and the CEO of the DDL Diagnostic Laboratory in Rijswijk, the Netherlands. Since the end of the eighties of the past century one of the main objectives of the DDL Diagnostic Laboratory is the investigation to and diagnostics of the human papilloma virus. His interest in historical microscopes arises from the fact that microscopy has been the initiator of molecular diagnostics.
