Arthur Seibert (1906-1980)
Arthur Seibert was a lens designer for Ernst Leitz from 1920 to 1947. In 1948, Seibert left Leitz and undertook the task of designing a subminiature lens, the Pentar lens of the Minox II. Arthur Seibert also designed the COMPLAN lens for Minox III/IIIs/B, and early Minox C.
In 1951, he founded EMO-OPTIK in Wetzlar, West Germany. Many EMO products are masterpieces of optical design.
