It is not clear who produced instruments marked MBS. For a long time, it was believed that, like Zenith, the products originated with LOMO (see LOMO / ZENITH). The MBS logo can be seen on the website of the “Lytkarino Optical Glass Factory”. Information about MBS is scarce, but apparently the company started producing mirrored reflectors in 1935. For a time, it was mainly involved in producing World War II-related materials. Since the 1960s it has been producing lenses for telescopes and microscopes.
