Marie-Honoré Radiguet (1791-1867), Honoré-Antoine Radiguet (1824-1887) and Arthur-Honoré Radiguet (1850-1905)
Maison Radiguet was established by Marie-Honoré in Paris in 1830 for the production and sale of optical equipment. Antoine followed his father and extended their range of products to include barometers, thermometers, etc.
Antoine and his son Arthur did much to popularize science, opening workshops where amateurs could make small mechanical items, and they subsequently extended this to the newly developing field of electricity and then photography. In 1900, Arthur went into partnership with his son-in-law, Gaston Massiot, forming “Radiguet & Massiot” to concentrate on projectors and slides, for which they are still remembered today. Arthur died young as a result of prolonged exposure to X-rays during experiments, and Massiot continued the business.
