This folding microscope was made for the Special Operations Command of the US Armed Forces in the Vietnam War, it was intended for use in field hospitals. It was reportedly made in quantities of less than a thousand.
The microscope has a folding foot, there is a condenser for bright and dark field illumination, a square mechanical stage and a triple objective changer.
