In a mahogany box.
This is Swift´s ‘advanced students microscope’ on the very popular one piece tripod foot (‘English foot’), the limb can swivel over 90 degrees between trunnions. There is a circular stage with spring clips. Below the stage the mirror in a bracket, its height is adjustable. There is an aperture stop. Coarse adjustment is by rack and pinion, fine adjustment by means of a micrometer screw. There are three objectives in a triple objective revolver, the revolver is a later addition. There are four eyepieces.
