Description

Sixteen refractometers/saccharimeters.

The refractive index and, for example, the sugar content in water can be determined with a refractometer. There are two types of refractometers, one for liquids, and one for solids. When looking through the eyepiece, a scale is visible. There are two scales, the refractive index and the Brix value. The Brix value is a measure of the amount of dissolved sugar in an aqueous liquid and indicates how much percentage by mass of the liquid consists of sucrose.

The color and number of the rings give an indication of the measuring range; for more information see refractometer color codes (in Dutch).

SM 235.1:
In brown leather cover. Saccharimeter 0-25% / 20⁰C  68⁰F. On prism part: BLEEKER / HOLLAND. Length: 16.2 cm, diameter 2 cm. Two green rings. A scale is visible from 0 to 25, increments of 5 coarse and 0.5 fine. In degrees Brix.

SM 235.2:
In brown leather cover. Saccharimeter 45. On prism part: BLEEKER / HOLLAND. Length: 16.8 cm, diameter 2 cm. One thick red ring. The scale is not clearly visible (dirt?).

SM 235.3:
In brown leather cover. Saccharimeter 45. On prism part incised: 5314. Length: 15.9 cm, diameter 2 cm. One thick red ring.

SM235.4:
IIn brown leather cover. Saccharimeter 25-65% / 20⁰C  68⁰F. Length: 16.2 cm, diameter 2 cm. Two black rings.

SM 235.5:
In brown leather cover. Copper colored. Saccharimeter 0-45% / 20⁰C. Length: 16.2 cm, diameter 2 cm. One thick red ring.

SM 235.6:
In brown leather cover. Saccharimeter 0-45% / 20⁰C  68⁰F. Length: 15.6 cm, diameter 2 cm. One thick red ring. The lens is missing.

SM235.7:
In brown leather cover. Saccharimeter 0-45% / 20⁰C. Length: 16 cm, diameter 2 cm. One thick red ring.

SM 235.8:
In brown leather cover signed NOI [in logo] / BLEEKER. Saccharimeter 45. Length: 16.2 cm, diameter 2 cm. One thin red ring.

SM 235.9:
In black leather cover signed RODEM. Saccharimeter 12. On prism part: RODEM / HOLLAND. Length: 16.6 cm, diameter 2 cm. One black ring.

SM 235.10:
In black leather cover signed RODEM. Saccharimeter 12. On prism part: RODEM / HOLLAND. Length: 16.6 cm, diameter 2 cm. One black ring.

SM 235.11:
In black leather cover signed RODEM. Saccharimeter M. On prism part: RODEM / HOLLAND. Length: 17.8 cm, diameter 2 cm. One light gray ring.

SM 235.12:
In black leather cover. Saccharimeter 25. On prism part: BLEEKER / HOLLAND. Length: 16.6 cm, diameter 2 cm. One green ring.

SM 235.13:
In brown leather cover. Saccharimeter 45-85% / 20⁰C  68⁰F. Length: 16 cm, diameter 2 cm. Without ring.

SM 235.14:
In brown leather cover signed NOI [in logo] / BLEEKER. Saccharimeter ‘M’. On prism part: BLEEKER / HOLLAND. Length: 16.4 cm, diameter 2 cm. One thin red ring and one thin gray ring.

SM 235.15:
In a cardboard box and in a brown leather cover. On the box: Bleeker / Pocket Refractometer // NEDERLANDSE OPTIEK- EN INSTRUMENTENFABRIEK / Dr C.E. BLEEKER N.V. / ZEIST  HOLLAND. SM 235.16:
Without cover. Saccharimeter 85. On prism part: BLEEKER / HOLLAND. Length: 16.4 cm, diameter 2 cm. One yellow ring.
