In a box partly lined with red velvet. The three objective lenses in a little box partly lined with red silk. On the box an engraved brass label ‘Microscope Vétérinaire / No 61’.
This stand is mentioned in the 1886 Nachet catalogue as ‘microscope plus simple’, the most simple microscope. There is a cast horseshoe foot with a fixed brass pillar on which the simple square stage is mounted. Below the stage a rotating stop with three apertures. The concave mirror is in a bracket on a swing arm, allowing oblique illumination. Coarse adjustment is by means of a sliding body tube in a sleeve. Fine adjustment by a micrometer screw acting on the limb.
The original eyepiece is missing, instead there is a screw micrometer eyepiece.
Objectives ‘3’, ‘5’, and ‘7’, in a box marked ‘Nachet’.
