In mahogany box.
The microscope has a continental horseshoe foot instead of the ‘English tripod stand’ which is generally used by Crouch. Apparently this ‘continental’ foot could be ordered and made if a customer preferred it. Crouch called this microscope his ‘histological stand’. The limb can be tilted over 90 degrees between trunnions. There is a square stage with two spring clips, below the stage an aperture stop. The mirror is in a bracket on a swing arm, allowing the use of incident light. Coarse adjustment is by a sliding tube. Fine adjustment is by a micrometer screw and a lever acting on the nosepiece.
There is one eyepiece and there are four objective lenses.
