This microscope has been donated to the foundation by Prof. dr. M.H. Vermeer, head of the Dermatology department of the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). Before it came into his possession, the microscope was from his father, Prof. dr. Dr. B.J. Vermeer (dermatologist), and before that of his grandfather, D.J.H. Vermeer (dermatologist).
