This microscope has been donated to the foundation by Joost Janssen (1948-2017). Joost was a physicist with his own company, he developed among others equipment for physiotherapy. Microscopy was one of his hobbies. He was a member of a microscopy club and used this microscope to study aquatic organisms. Joost passed away on 3 November 2017.
